How cohort courses work

Day-by-day lessons

Plan your course as Day 1, Day 2… Each day has a short video, what it covers, notes and an optional task. Days open one at a time from your start date, on dates you choose, or all at once.

Videos on YouTube, unlisted

Upload each lesson to your own YouTube channel as Unlisted and paste the link. It's free. Only enrolled students get to the lesson on Ensena.

A group chat for your cohort

Every student who pays joins your course's group chat automatically, so the class learns together.

Announcements

Post updates only you and your moderators can write, and every student is notified.

Uploading your lessons to YouTube as Unlisted

It takes a few minutes per video, from your phone or a computer.

On your phone

  1. 1Open the YouTube app and sign in (any Google account works. You can make a separate one for your teaching).
  2. 2Tap + at the bottom, then Upload a video, and pick the lesson video from your phone.
  3. 3Tap Next. Add a title, for example "Day 1: Setting up your workspace".
  4. 4Tap Visibility and choose Unlisted. Not Public, not Private. Unlisted means only people with the link can watch it.
  5. 5If asked, choose "No, it's not made for kids" unless it really is.
  6. 6Tap Upload and wait until it has finished processing.
  7. 7Open the video, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste that link into the day on Ensena.

On a computer

  1. 1Go to studio.youtube.com and sign in.
  2. 2Click Create (top right), then Upload videos, and choose the lesson video.
  3. 3Add a title and description. Under Audience, choose "No, it's not made for kids" unless it really is.
  4. 4Click Next until you reach Visibility, choose Unlisted, then Save.
  5. 5Copy the video link shown on the right (it looks like youtu.be/…) and paste it into the day on Ensena.

Copy the link, then paste it into the day on Ensena

Tips: record in landscape, keep each day's video focused (10 to 30 minutes works well on mobile data), and export at 720p. If a link is ever shared outside your class, upload the video again and replace the link on that day. Students get the new link straight away.

Your price, your earnings

Charge what you like, or make it free. Ensena keeps 20% of each sale to cover payments, the classroom, marketing and support; you get 80%.

You charge₦20,000
Ensena (20%)− ₦4,000
You receive₦16,000

For every student. 30 students at ₦20,000 → you receive ₦480,000.

Getting paid

  • Students pay on Ensena through Paystack (card, bank transfer or USSD).
  • Your share of each sale is added to your Ensena earnings, which you can follow sale by sale in your Skills dashboard.
  • You withdraw to your Nigerian bank account in your own name; Paystack sends it (most banks show it within minutes).
  • Before your first payout, we check your identity. The same check every tutor on Ensena goes through.

Rules and content guidelines

  • Teach what you know and own: your own videos and materials, no copied courses or pirated content.
  • Describe the course honestly, what students will learn, what they need, and how long it takes.
  • Keep payments on Ensena. Don't ask students to pay you elsewhere or share bank details in the chat.
  • Be respectful. No hate, harassment, adult content or anything illegal.
  • Courses open to under-18s follow Ensena's rules for teaching minors: no private messages with students, and everything stays in the course.
  • Your course goes live as soon as you publish it. Ensena takes down any course that breaks these rules.
  • Every host verifies their identity before their first payout.
